Annie Lennox by Richard E. Aaron

This is a photo of Annie Lennox. I was on assignment for a National magazine to photograph Annie and the Eurythmics at a theatre in Los Angeles, and she was known for her great smile and of course her great lyrics. So my assignment was to get a shot of her smiling and when I got to the theatre there was absolutely no lighting, and I didn’t want to use flash because it interferes with who I’m shooting and with the audience too, we don’t usually like to shoot flash and it really kills all the ambience of the show. So I had a long lens held it really tight and I pushed the film to I think 3200 ASA and I just waited and sat there for two hours waiting for that one shot to come, and she turned to me and looked at me and big smile, I got it!
